KID FITNESS CLASSES -Coming summer 2012.

Fit and Healthy Kids = Happy Kids.

Modern life

While most of us know that we are in the middle of a global epidemic of childhood obesity, many parents are not aware what foods and factors caused the problem and how we can avoid our kids to fall prey to the devastating effects. As parents and adults we need to take a stand for our youth. Our youth needs supervision, guidance, love, nurturing in order to grow and thrive both mentally and physically.

Let’s see like a child and fight like heros!

Here are only a few problems our youth faces:
Pitfalls
Computer Games/ Video Games: Need to be monitoried to make sure its age appropriate content. Many games require constant gazing into the screens and lack of movement. Make sure you set time limits to 20 to 30 minutes to move the body and rest the eyes. Many games show lots of violence which may slow down a child’s metabolism. If your child must play video games, I recommend getting the new technology of the Nintendo Wii and the 360 Xbox as these games require the child to move opposed to just sitting in front of the screen. But with these you still have to choose games appropriately to the childs age. I have both systems and my 7 year old works up a good healthy sweat playing the sports on both the Wii and Xbox 360. I highly recommend their use especially on cold rainy days. Kids need daily exercise.

Fast foods, high fat and sugar intake: intoxicates their organs, leads to obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, early onset heart disease and cancer. As parents we purchase the foods so need to provide more fruits and vegetables in our childs daily meals. Watch the chemicals in processed foods. A rule of thumb, if it has MSG or sodium bicarb. in it don’t buy it. Many alternatives to these chemical ridden foods are available. These are shelf preserving chemicals. Try to buy your foods fresh. Every time you feed your children think high NUTRIENTS. Avoid the high corn syrups and keep sodium to a minimum. Read the labels of processed foods!

Low self esteem: Children need encouragement, positive reinforcements, to feel loved and caring friendships. Low self esteem can lead to detrimental behavior and stronger cravings for junk foods.

Depression: Takes all the energy out of a child to undertake any activities and social interaction. Communicate with your child on a daily basis. Exercise, fresh air and little sunshine is a natural way to help overcome depression.

Fear: A scared child will be afraid to try anything new to avoid embarrassment and failure. A child needs to feel secure and loved.

The best solutions are simple and affordable

 Physical Activity and Nutrition

These two factors, nutrition and physical activity will have the greatest influence on your child’s health, self esteem, social skills, happiness and longevity.

 Take Action

My -Fun and Fit- training programs are based on structured play and the basics of sports. This helps your child learn to become part of a team while performing natural movements that enhance mental and physical development. This is a 45 minute program that teaches basic stretching, breathing techniques, running, ball catching, throwing, rope jumping, basic sports training that enhances kids self esteem, flexibility, endurance and strength.
It will teach kids some of the things their sports hero’s do while avoiding injury.

This class will teach your kids about the importance of eatting healthy foods and reading the ingredients label on packaged foods.

Eating healthy is “cool” and it is the best way to get your kids to actually change their academic performance and improve their focus. Get the nutrients into your kids, not the unnecessary empty calories coming from fast food restaurants, high sugary foods and starches.

Parents

We as parents need to get involved with our kids. Parents, I encourage you to be a kid again and play with your children. Have fun and explore the amazing bond you will feel if you just spend time. What better way than to exercise together and learn to improve your bodies.

This class teaches my NOWES system. You will be ready to incorporate and lead your family to a better life of health and fitness which equals happiness.
